I have been gluing plastic together now for over 30 years on and off. The first kit ever built was an Airfix Westland Whirlwind with my dad. I knew I was hooked when, given the choice between going to see Santa at the Co-op in Reading or having the money to buy a kit - I brought the Aitfix 1/72 Bofors gun and tractor! These days I mainly build 1:35 armour - mostly allied. I will dip into aircraft and sci-fi if the kit looks good. I also enjoy painting the odd figure.

I have tried all sorts of hobbies in my time but I always come back to modelling.  I think it offers something for everyone at whatever level they are. I can throw something together on a wet Sunday afternoon or spend hours with brass etch and plastic card to get that perfect (well almost) kit. And what ever I am building it beats DIY!

I have two kids so don’t have quite so much time to play with these days so I am not building so much right now, unfortunately I still can’t resist a bargain so my shelf of shame continues to grow!
