COLOURS 13

It was a pretty wet weekend in Newbury! At least the venue, on the top floor of the grandstand at Newbury Racecourse, was warm and dry.

The weekend started for Liz, Jeff and Liz on Friday afternoon, with the problem of shoehorning two more clubs into the already cramped space allocated. After much headscratching we managed to find all the space (by drastically reducing the competition area!). Other than The Earley Risers, clubs attending included The Tank Museum volunteer modellers, IPMS Newbury, Berkshire Scale Replicas, Wallingford IPMS, Kevin Peart figure modeller and Wolvercote model club.

Jeff, Sean, Liz and Steve put on a model display on Saturday, while on Sunday, Liz, Jeff and Steve reappeared along with Paul, Tim and Lance. Eric made a flying visit! George and Les looked after the Wallingford stand.

Colours is a large wargaming and modelling show that fills all three levels of the grandstand, plus a large annex.
Between the two is a large area where there are live demonstrations of fighting tactics, by re enactors in period costume.

The early morning pictures show the stands before the influx of visitors who turned up in their thousands!
