 8-9 November | Success at Telford!  

This year, we were awarded the Jessie Wright Trophy for the best branch display at SMW14.
IPMS Gold and Silver for Hugh and Tref. Successes for Sean, Hugh, Liz and Steve.

11 October | Maiden show at Bovington!  

TankMod 14, the Tank Museum's first model show for a number of years, was held at their Bovington site in Dorset. Despite the inclement weather, Jeff, Liz and Steve, with Sean and Rolly, managed to put on an impressive display. TankMod14
 

4 October | More success at sunny Abingdon 

Hugh and Steve added to this year's haul of awards at IPMS Abingdon's 2014 Show at Larkmead School. After a showery start, everyone had a pleasant day. (In spite of the catering van not turning up!)

 

21 September | Marvellous ModelFest   

Hugh, Jeff and Steve filled the stand with their models at IPMS Farnborough's 2014 ModelFest, while Les B helped man the stand. Their models attracted a fair share of interest.
 

10 August | Sodden Avon!   

After almost swimming to Thornbury Leisure Centre, Liz, Jeff and Steve made it to IPMS Avon's 2014 Model Show.

A variety of sodden traders, model clubs and wargamers put on a varied collection of displays.
The competition area was well populated, Steve managed to scrape in with a Third place for his Skaven Screaming Bell.

 

18 May | Summer Competitions  

This year Steve managed to win both the Challenge Cup and The Earley Risers Plate!

It was however, a close run thing as there were tie breaks for first place in several instances.

11 May | Earley Risers double booked  

Yes, while Jeff, Sean, Liz and Steve trekked out to IPMS Gloucester's show at Churchdown, Les B and Lance held the fort at IPMS Barnet's show in The RAF Museum at Hendon.

 

  27 April | Earley Risers put on a varied display at Milton Keynes!  

Hugh, Andrew and Edward, Jeff and Mark along with Liz, Steve and Tony attended IPMS Milton Keynes model show at Stantonbury Campus, on the Northern aide of Milton Keynes.

Success on the Competition Tables

Both Hugh and Andrew came away with awards: Hugh's Salamander won a Silver in the 1/48 scale class and his Bear did even better, with a Gold in the 1/144 scale class. While Andrew's Ford in military uniform gained a Silver.

  12-13 April | A busy weekend for the Earley Risers!  

The Earley Risers had a busy weekend, we displayed at Poole Vikings model show on Saturday
and The REME Museum model show on Sunday.

Poole Vikings Model Show - an all round success story!

After a pleasant drive in the beautiful sunshine, (a bit different from the downpours encountered last year!) Liz, Hugh and Steve set up the tables.A varied mix of models attracted a lot of interest.
This is always a good show to go to, with a cheerful atmosphere and plenty of interested people to chat to. All three members entered the competition, with unprecedented results. Click here for more

REME Museum's last show at Arborfield Garrison - perhaps not?

The REME Model Show was well attended by ERs, with Jeff, Sean, Lance and Steve putting on a display underneath the museum's Westland Scout helicopter. (Les B and George manned the adjacent Wallingford Club stand.)

  15 February | Stormy day at Yeovilton  

Liz & Steve along with Mark and Tom braved the howling gales and deepening floods, to show the flag at the FAAM's Model Show at RNAS Yeovilton. Despite the conditions, the show was packed with clubs, traders and members of the public. The damp conditions didn't stop some intrepid model flyers practicing their skills!

Situated under the Mig 15, the stand created a lot of interest, from young and old. For more pictures, see the Yeovilton 2014 page

  December - January | Andrew's latest models  

While Andrew's been at home recouperating from his foot operation, he's had more time to devote to modelling.
