Spirits not dampened by rain at Old Sarum

After a wet and miserable journey, Liz, Steve and Jeff arrived at Old Sarum airfield.

Our stand, in front of a Jetstream fuselage,
was easily found and was soon covered with cloths and models.

The two halls soon warmed up as they filled with clubs and traders - A much appreciated
hot cup of tea, made for the three of us by Liz, certainly helped!

During the day, the show was surprisingly busy.
Drizzly weather, combined with the chance of some bargains, added to the delight of being able to climb into a number of cockpits, (as witnessed by a visiting ER and his wife!) probably helped to increase the number of visitors.

Guess who
came to visit?

The number of competition entries increased dramatically from last year, although it made things more difficult for the judges to find entries on club stands scattered throughout three rooms!

Steve kept up the club standards by winning a Gold and 2 Silvers for his Railway truck, Junkers D1 and Kettenkrad.

Tucked in amongst the aircraft of the Boscombe Down Aviation Collection, the model show attracted many visitors.
