Season Finale at Bugle Call 2016

Liz, Big Mick and Steve finished off the 2016 show season at Bugle Call 2016.

After a dark and foggy trip down the M4 and M5 to Nailsea, the intrepid trio set up their stand at The British Model Soldier Society (BMSS Bristol) show - held for the first time in the spacious but unusually laid out Nailsea School. Car parking was no problem - no shoe-horning cars into a couple of tennis courts here!

Being a BMSS run show, there was an interesting mix of both club stands and traders not seen at the normal "IPMS-type" shows; Model boats, working railways and plastic models were situated cheek by jowl with Mr Models and Napoleonic figurines.

Mick hit the competition tables with gusto - and was rewarded with a bunch of rewards!

(See below.)

One thing to remember about the judging system at BMSS shows, they use the Sergeant system.
This means that models are not just judged against each other, but also to certain overall levels of skill.
So that in each class there may be a number of Golds, or none!

Screaming Eagle - Gold

U-boat Captain - Gold

U-47 Drone - Silver

Shield Maiden - Silver
(Next to the Best in Show - a scratch built Field Mouse and Moth!)
